“Morning Star Meadow”

“Morning Star Meadow” Oil on canvas by Carlin Bear Don’t Walk. I created this piece back in 2017 as a gift for my Mother. It started out as an abstract piece as most of my work does by mixing thin oils down with paint thinner and applying the dripping paint in random areas guided by whatever energy is with me at the time. My process of creation involves many thoughts, memories and emotions yet it all happens in a natural state. I apply layers of oil pigments thick and thin until it looks and feels just right.  Sometimes a work of Art is completed in one sitting whereas some will sit around for weeks, months before they are signed and framed. This is a painting of that special place within our hearts, where an oasis of peace and serenity comforts emptiness like a feeling of fulfillment after reuniting with loved ones. Where the everlasting sky watches out for all of us and the wind sings sacred songs to the beat of our Ancestors drums. That place our Grandmothers always talked about, where the Creator’s light shines on us forever and the joys of life are abundant within all of us. Wherever that may be or whatever road we take, follow the whispers of your Ancestors and let your heart lead the way, only time will tell......
